Gov attends Capt Kenguruse memorial

Governor La Ganesan attended the 25th memorial meet of Captain N Kenguruse at Nerhe Phezha village on Friday. Addressing the gathering, the governor conveyed his gratitude and regards to Neiselie Kenguruse and his wife for parenting the “immortal son of India” Neikezhakuo, who made Nagaland and the entire nation proud.


He recalled that late Captain Kenguruse, who exemplified the highest ideals of duty and honor, stood steadfast in adversity, adding that his commitment to protecting the values and way of life inspired all.
The governor reflected on the immeasurable debt the peopled owed to Captain Kenguruse and countless others who had sacrificed their lives in service to the nation.


Paying tribute to the soldier, Ganesan stated that everyone should reaffirm the promise to cherish and uphold the ‘nation first’ values for which Captain Kenguruse so bravely fought to his last breath.
“His legacy lives on in our hearts and in the fabric of our nation. We should not forget his sacrifice and may his spirit guide us as we strive for a better, more just world,” he stated.


The governor complimented, acknowledged, and thanked the Assam Rifles and Indian Army for always been at the forefront of honouring Captain Kenguruse, the brave heart of Nagaland.
According to him, heroes like Captain Kenguruse would continue to inspire the youth to always keep service before self and bring laurels to the family, the community, and the country.


Noting that the yeoman service of the Assam Rifles was known to all and for which they are called “Friends of the North East”, he complimented the efforts put in by Inspectorate General Assam Rifles – North (IGAR-N) in renovating the memorial, as there was no better way to honour a brave heart than to follow in his footsteps and make sure that the nation remembered his name forever.


The governor also extended his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Assam Rifles and Indian Army for having professionally and flawlessly organising the event, and paying tribute to the brave heart of the nation. This was stated in a press release by PRO of Raj Bhavan.
