
Nagaland governor RN Ravi, chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy CM Y Patton extended greetings to the members of the Khiamniungan community on the occasion of Biam festival.
In his message, Ravi said that the traditional rituals performed during the festival reflected the harmonious coexistence of the community with the environment. Ravi urged the community members specially the youth to imbibe and carry forward the cultural values of the festival.
Taking to twitter, the chief minister prayed that “God Almighty answer our prayers for a good harvest and bless us in every aspect of our lives.”
Extending greetings to the Khiamniungan and Yimchunger communities on the occasion of Biam and Metemneo festivals, Patton said that festivals were inherent part of every Naga community and the celebrations were “a way of remembering our ancestors who left behind great legacy.”
Patton prayed that the celebrations bring the people closer as they come together in unity and brotherhood.
