
Nagaland governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi and chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM Y. Patton have extended greetings to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Diwali festival.
In his message, Mukhi said that Diwali festival signifies victory of light over darkness, good over evil, truth over falsehood and knowledge over ignorance. He said the festival also gives an opportunity for the people to spend time together and foster good relationships. Governor prayed that the spirit of the festival “guide us from darkness to light” and wished good health, joy and prosperity to all on this auspicious occasion.
“May the joy and beauty of the Festival of Lights fill your lives and homes with happiness, peace and prosperity,”chief minister Neiphiu Rio tweeted. Dy CM Y. Patton also extended Diwali greetings and prayed for peace and prosperity. Taking note of the impact of fireworks to environment and health, Patton urged all to be cautious and find better ways to celebrate.
