Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya and chief minister T.R. Zeliang have extended warm greetings to the Rengma community on the occasion of Ngada festival 2017.
In his message through PRO, Acharya said that the festival is celebrated to mark the end of agricultural year with feasting, dancing, thanksgiving and forgiveness. He reminded the Rengma community to take time and thank Almighty for His unwavering love and blessing throughout the year.
Acharya also urged the community to take the responsibility in creating awareness on various welfare projects and schemes of the Central and State governments to the farmers. “We motivate them to avail the services for their benefit”, he said.
Further, the governor expressed hope that Ngada would provide opportunities for budding generations and other villagers to display their skills and physical strength. “May the festival of Ngada bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Rengma’s in particular and Nagas in general,” Acharya said.

He therefore, called upon the Rengma community to celebrate the festival with the spirit of oneness, reconciliation, forgiveness, so that peace and harmony would prevail. On the auspicious occasion, the chief minister also wished the Rengma community a happy and meaningful Ngada celebration in the best of health and spirit. “May God bestow his abundant blessing upon the Rengma community”, Zeliang said.
