Nagaland governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the members of Khiamniungan and Pochury communities on the occasion of Tsokum festival and Yemshe festival respectively.
In his message, governor Bhalla said Tsokum, the premier festival of Khiamniungan Nagas, was also a time to offer thanksgiving to the Almighty for His abundant blessings and to seek prosperity and good health in the days ahead.
The governor expressed hope that the festival strengthen the bonds of unity, promote peace and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the people.
In another message, Bhalla said Yemshe Festival, celebrated with devotion and joy, was an expression of gratitude to the Almighty for a bountiful harvest and a prayer for peace, prosperity and well-being.
He prayed that Yemshe bring happiness, harmony and abundant blessings to all and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and goodwill.
Meanwhile, the chief minister, in a social media post, greeted the Khiamniungan community on the occasion of Tsokum as they seek blessings for a bountiful harvest. Rio prayed that Tsokum festival strengthen the bonds of unity and bring blessings of good health, and prosperity.
Extending greetings to the Pochury community, he said Yemshe, a harvest festival, marks the arrival of the new season and expresses gratitude through rituals, feasting, and community celebrations. The chief minister prayed that Yemshe festival bring blessings and strengthen bonds of unity.
