Gov, CM greet on Gandhi Jayanti

Nagaland Governor P.B. Acharya has greeted the people on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti and expressed hope that the occasion will guide everyone towards Gandhiji’s path of truth, non-violence and cleanliness. 
Governor through his PRO also expressed hope that “it will stir up people’s conscience towards universal peace, global unity, true compassion and swachhta (Cleanliness)”.
Acharya also said that in pursuance of Gandhi’s ideas, Government of India has launched ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ on to create a ‘Clean India’ of Gandhiji’s dreams of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Hai’. 
He therefore appealed to the people of the state to actively involve themselves in the cleanliness drive. Further, Governor urged everyone to remember Gandhiji’s ideals by pledging to work for ‘Swachh Bharat’ in order to create a new India. 
CM: Chief minister T.R. Zeliang while extending greetings, urged the people of the state to join the nation to pay tribute to pay tribute to the ‘Father of the Nation’ meaningfully by emulating his ideals of peace, patriotism, sacrifice and non-violence.
In a statement through CMO, the chief minister praised Gandhiji’s ideals, which has become a source of inspiration for all over the world. 
Zeliang further added that Gandhiji believed in the principles of non-violence, courage and truth, and played a major role in obtaining freedom from British slavery. 
“He respected people of all religions including the Nagas who live together in harmony”, Zeliang said.
