Gov, CM Mongmong festival greetings

Nagaland governor La Ganesan and chief minister Neiphiu Rio have extended warm greetings to members of the Sangtam community on the occasion of Mongmong festival.


In his message, Ganesan said Mongmong festival, celebrated as a thanksgiving festival for the bountiful harvest, was also the time for seeking blessings and prosperity from the Almighty. He said Mongmong festival was marked by paying visits to near and dear ones, including close friends and sharing of feasts for good health and unity among the community.


Governor wished good health, peace and prosperity to all on the auspicious occasion. In a post on X, formerly known as twitter, the chief minister greeted the Sangtam community and prayed that the festivity foster brotherhood and bring blessings of abundant harvest and good fortune in everyone’s life.


Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Y.Patton also greeted the Sangtams on the auspicious occasion of Mongmong festival, which he said was a reminder of “our rich cultural heritage” and stressed the need to preserve it.
Patton, on behalf of the state BJP legislators, conveyed festive greetings and hoped that it was celebrated with grandeur.
