Gov extends Chavang Kut greetings

Nagaland governor, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has extended greetings to the Kuki, Chin and Mizo communities and the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Chavang Kut festival.

A time of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest, Mukhi said the festival also celebrates peace and unity where the young and old are involved in traditional dances, songs and games, which is a good way to preserve the rich cultural heritage.

Mukhi said the celebration of the festival by communities, cutting across boundaries, brings people together and fosters friendship and unity which in turn leads to progress. On the occasion, he prayed that God bless all with good health, peace and prosperity.
