
Nagaland governor, RN Ravi, felicitated Dr. Yingngam Wangnaolim for securing third position in Masters Course for Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2020.
Speaking at the felicitation programme held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall at Raj Bhavan Monday, Ravi lauded Dr. Wangnaolim for her outstanding academic achievement and said through her achievement she had given the State an opportunity to celebrate. He said that although Dr. Wangnaolim came from a modest background, she had demonstrated Sankalp se Siddhi (attainment through resolve), a belief hugely propagated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Ravi advised her to be a mentor to the aspiring students of the State. He also suggested that Dr. Wangnaolim visit High Schools, especially in the rural areas to meet students and inspire them by sharing her experience
Ravi also encouraged her to serve the people with utmost sincerity since Nagaland needed the care and services of good doctors. He said even if Nagaland was rich in natural resources, without human resources the state would not be able to fully progress.
He also highlighted the need for improving health care systems and the education sector which he said, were two were key ingredients for development of human resources. He said Nagaland had a lot of catching up to do in these areas.
Ravi also lauded the state government and its machineries for doing outstandingly well during the pandemic. Although the pandemic was far from over, he expressed optimism that with the help of vaccines it would come to an end sooner than later.
Further, as India was all set to celebrate 75th year of independence next year, Ravi suggested that the state should also set some targets in areas where it needed to progress to mark the auspicious celebration.
Also, speaking at the programme, state health minister, S Pangnyu Phom, lauded Dr. Wangnaolim and said he was extremely happy to celebrate the outstanding achievement of the daughter of “our” soil. He said it was a proud moment for Nagas to see their daughters excelling exceptionally in all fields.
Pangnyu congratulated the awardee on behalf of Nagaland government for bringing laurels to the State. The minister also lauded the awardee’s parents for producing and moulding an exceptional daughter who is an asset to society. Pangnyu also thanked the governor for recognising Dr. Wangnaolim’s achievement and organising the programme to felicitate her.
Others who attended the felicitation programme included CL John, MLA; principal secretary H&FW AS Bhatia, the awardee’s parents, members of KNSK and Konyak Union Kohima unit, Chen Area Union Kohima and Konyak Baptist Church and host of officials.
