Gov felicitates NCC girls’ band

Nagaland governor La Ganesan on Friday felicitated the NCC girls Cadets from Nagaland, for their participation in the Republic Day Parade 2024 at the felicitation programme held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
According to PRO Raj Bhavan, the felicitation ceremony was organized by the department of Youth Resource & Sports, Kohima & NCC GP Kohima.


At the event, the governor commended the NCC girls’ band for their captivating performance and congratulated the 31 cadets from Nagaland for their participation in the parade.


He highlighted the significance of the achievement of NCC cadets and applauded the parents for their support. Gaesan praised the efforts of the Nagaland government, the department of Youth Resources and Sports, and the NCC directorate for grooming the cadets.
He emphasized that such support will motivate the cadets to excel in the future. The governor also underscored the importance of determination and resilience required to participate in the Republic Day Parade.


He described the parade as a celebration of India’s diversity and strength. The governor also handed out certificate of appreciation all the cadets. Also speaking at the event, chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, expressed joy at the historic moment of NCC cadets from Nagaland being part of the first-ever NCC Girls Brass band at the Republic Day Parade 2024. He praised the NCC for instilling values of unity and selfless service in the youth.


Rio highlighted the achievement of Naga Girl, Ruyangunuo Kense, leading the Delhi police during the parade.
He encouraged cadets to consider a career in the armed forces, emphasizing its respect and prestige. Rio also congratulated the cadets for their dedication and thanked their parents, NER directorate, NCC Kohima, and other units for their support while praising the Youth Resources and Sports department for organizing the felicitation ceremony.


Maj.Gen Gagan Deep ADG, NCC NE Region DTE in his short speech said that the 31 cadets were selected on merit and assured that many more cadets will be given such opportunities in the near future.


Advisor Youth Resource & Sports, S.Keoshu delivered welcome addressed and encouraged the young cadets to strive harder and continue to take the paths of their seniors to bring pride and honour for the state.
The program was chaired by Commissioner and Secretary YRS Wezope Kenye and attendees included Principal Secretary and Home Commissioner, NCC officials.
