Gov Ganesan calls for working towards Vikshit Bharat 2047

Governor La Ganesan has given a clarion call to fellow citizens to work towards achieving the goal of a Vikshit Bharat 2047, stressing that Nagaland could not afford to miss the bus of development this time. In a message on the eve of Republic Day, the governor called for march together with integrity, determination and in unity in order to ensure a happy and prosperous future for all citizens.


Noting that Nagaland had also made significant progress since its formation as a state of the Indian Union, he acknowledged that the state had overcome numerous challenges and made remarkable progress in various fields, including education, economy and infrastructure.
He claimed that the state had also made great strides in preserving and promoting its rich cultural heritage, pointing out that the annual Hornbill Festival had become a very popular event that showcased the cultural richness and diversity of Nagaland to the world.


But, he cautioned against resting on the laurels, stating that Nagaland had the potential to achieve even greater heights in the years to come with continued efforts and support. “We need to address all our shortcomings, including connectivity infrastructure and other infrastructure required for rapid economic progress. We have to unlock and translate our economic potential and improve the standard of living of our people,” he emphasised.


Extending warm greetings to all countrymen on the 75th Republic Day, Ganesan said the people of India made a solemn promise to adopt the country’s constitution and identified themselves as citizens of a sovereign democratic republic.


He mentioned that the celebration today was the result of blood, tears and toils of millions of Indian men and women who, along with the founding fathers, freed the countrymen from the yoke of foreign rule. He said it was befitting of a grateful nation to pay tribute to the founding fathers of the great nation, and the countless other fellow countrymen and women who sacrificed so much, adding that their sacrifices should never be forgotten.


He called upon the people for paying homage and re-dedicating themselves to upholding the ideals of justice, liberty, and equality that the founding fathers fought so valiantly to secure.
He reminded everyone that their vision, courage, and determination had laid the foundation for the prosperous and resilient democracy that they were privileged to be a part of today.


From establishing a robust democratic system to making remarkable strides in various fields, Ganesan stated that India’s journey as a republic had been marked by notable achievements in the last 75 years.
He mentioned that one of the most significant achievements of India as a republic was its successful establishment of a democratic system.
Despite being a diverse nation with multiple languages, cultures, and religions, he said India had maintained a functioning democratic system, adding that the country had held regular free and fair elections, ensuring the participation of the citizens in the decision-making process.


He observed that the country had also witnessed remarkable progress in various sectors, including healthcare, agriculture, transport infrastructure, science & technology, space exploration, pharmaceuticals, defence, etc.
According to Ganesan, India’s rapid economic growth had also helped in lifting millions of people out of poverty and improving the standard of living.


He said India’s achievements as a republic extend to its efforts in social and cultural development too.
He mentioned that the country had made significant strides in promoting gender equality, eradicating social evils, and preserving its rich cultural heritage.


He stated, “Initiatives such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Ayushman Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, and Digital India have been instrumental in bringing about positive social change.”
