Nagaland governor, La Ganesan graced the Hindu Seva Samiti’s Vijaya Sammelan cum Award Ceremony 2023 at Durga Mandir auditorium, Dimapur on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, Ganesan said Vijay Sammelan aimed not only to recognize outstanding efforts but also to honor the commitment and dedication to preserve culture and values.
He emphasized the importance of unity, respect, and tolerance in the diverse society, to promote the spirit of discipline and devotion. The governor also called on everyone to carry the spirit of Durga Puja into everyday life, urging them to embrace discipline, respect, unity, and devotion as guiding principles for building a better society.
Congratulating the participants on the fervent spirit displayed for the competition, he praised the festivities for showcasing the cultural heritage and spiritual beliefs of the society, and for the successful conclusion of the 2023 Durga Puja Celebrations in Dimapur.
Ganesan also assured to aid the issues faced by the community in construction of ‘Ghats’ which were used during immersion of idols in festivals like Durga Puja, Vishwakarma Puja and such, in consultation with concerned authorities.
The event was hosted by Pooja Das Paul and witnessed speeches by State President of Hindu Seva, Gopal Sharma, Dimapur District President Sudip Narayan Dutta and Uttar Purva Pranta Mantri (VHP), Brajajyoti Sharma.
In the competition, the Puja Committees Competition results were as follows: Nepali Colony 1st position, followed by K Kire Colony and PWD Colony.
