Assam and Nagaland Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi tested positive for Covid-19, Raj Bhavan officials said on Thursday.
The Governor, after being tested positive for the infectious virus, was admitted at the Apollo Hospital in Guwahati on Wednesday evening. "Prof. Mukhi is now in a stable condition," they said, adding that his wife has tested negative and is staying at Raj Bhavan.
Mukhi’s medical parameters are within normal range and he is asymptomatic, the official said.
Taking to twitter, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio wished Prof. Mukhi a speedy recovery. “My wishes for a speedy recovery of the Honourable Governor of Nagaland and Assam Prof. @jagdishmukhi who tested positive for COVID-19. Prayers for your good health”, Rio said in a tweet.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also wished the Governor a speedy recovery.
