Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya has expressed grief at the passing away of Mrs. Takatula, mother of Dr. SC Jamir, Governor of Odisha and Advisor Urban Development S.I. Jamir. Mrs. Takatula passed away on March 12 after a brief illness at the age of 103.
In his condolence message to Odisha governor S.C. Jamir, Acharya said late Mrs. Takatula, who was a guiding pillar of the family, was a wonderful woman and was cherished by everyone who knew her. He said it was really great fortune for the people in general and the family in particular to be guided by her long life. Acharya further said her long life for more than 100 years was really a great blessing to all.
At this hour of grief, the governor and his wife conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that Almighty God would grant strength to bear the irreparable loss and departed soul rest in peace.
NPCC: NPCC president K. Therie has expressed sadness by the news of the passing away of late Tekatula, mother of Dr. S.C. Jamir, Governor of Odisha and Urban Development Advisor S.I. Jamir, and also the grandmother of C. Apok Jamir, parliamentary secretary, Tourism.
In a press note, Therie said Tekatula “lived a life enriched in righteousness and was a blessed woman for her legacy remains through her children, grandchildren and great grand children who have worked hard for and contributed immensely to the social uplift of the Nagas”.
He said that the Nagas in general and the Ao community in particular have lost a role mother figure, which would be difficult to replace.
Therie said NPCC rank and file express deep condolences to the bereaved family members and pray that the Almighty God comfort and console the family members in this hour of grief.
