Gov pays tribute to veterans at Ex-Servicemen Rally

DIMAPUR, MAR 17 (NPN):

Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav paid glowing tributes to veterans, Veer Naris, and the families of brave soldiers for their selfless service and immense contributions to the nation during the Ex-Servicemen Rally held at the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the governor described the occasion as a momentous opportunity to honour those who have served the country with extraordinary courage, dedication, and sacrifice. He expressed deep appreciation for their presence and acknowledged the profound gratitude owed to them by the nation.
Yadav commended the Indian Army for maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and compassion, and for its unwavering commitment to the welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and their families. He highlighted that such rallies exemplify the Army’s cherished traditions of camaraderie, lifelong support, and solidarity, reassuring every soldier that the nation remains grateful for their service.
Emphasising the vital role of recognising the sacrifices of the armed forces, the governor described veterans and Veer Naris as living embodiments of the nation’s strength, resilience, and unity. He said their stories of bravery and selflessness continue to inspire citizens across generations. Yadav stressed that it was the shared responsibility of society to honour and support them with the dignity and respect.
The governor further appreciated the Indian Army, particularly the Spear Corps, for organising the rally. He also acknowledged the contributions of various organisations and institutional representatives who participated in the event.
The governor commended the State Administration of Nagaland for its continued efforts towards the welfare of veterans and their families, highlighting the importance of collaboration between civil and military institutions.
In his concluding remarks, governor Yadav saluted the unparalleled courage, dedication, and sacrifices of the veterans and Veer Naris, affirming that their contributions have safeguarded the nation’s freedom and fortified its democratic foundations.
He assured the gathering that the people of Nagaland, alongside the Indian Army and the entire nation, will forever cherish and honour their legacy with pride and deep gratitude.
During the programme, the president of the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) League submitted a memorandum to the governor, outlining key concerns and grievances of the ex-servicemen community.
The governor assured the gathering that the issues raised would be examined carefully and addressed with due consideration and priority.
