Governor acknowledges initiative for setting up medical Centre at Settsu village

Nagaland Governor, P.B. Acharya has expressed deep appreciation to Anava foundation, a Nagaland based NGO, for taking the initiative to setup a medical centre at Settsu village under Mokokchung district.
Governor also lauded the initiative taken by Dr. Sungtiakum Jamir and his wife Nadia Jamir to provide quality health care services and education. The medical centre will provide gynecological, obstetrical, surgical and general medicine services.
In the letter to Dr. Sungtiakum, the Governor pointed out that health care was the right to every individual. “Rural health care is one of the biggest challenges faced by India. With more than 70 percent population living in rural areas and low level of health facilities, mortality rates due to diseases are on a high,” he stated.
With rural areas lacking good medical facilities, Acharya said there was a dire need for new practices and procedures to ensure that quality and timely healthcare reaches the deprived corners of the villages. Acharya hoped that Anava Hospital would provide quality and affordable health care services to the needy people in Nagaland, adding Public Private Partnership was the need of the hour. It may be noted that Anava Foundation, Nagaland is a sister society of Anava Foundation, Switzerland.
