Governor graces Raksha Bandan celebration

Nagaland Governor LA Ganesan graced the Raksha Bandhan celebration organised by JanJati Vikash Samiti Dimapur at Durga Mandir Hall, Dimapur on August 30.


A DIPR report informed that, on the occasion, the governor lighted the lamp of celebration and shared his message mentioning that celebration of Raksha Bandhan hold a deep meaning only when celebrated to honour the unbreakable bond between siblings and the promise of safeguarding each other.


He said “Raksha” which signifies protection, while “Bandhan” represents the bond between siblings. On this auspicious day, sisters pray for the well-being and prosperity of their brothers and in return, brothers assure to protect and support their sisters in all circumstances throughout their lives, the governor said.
The program was chaired by Rajeev Ladha; welcome song by JVSN teachers and welcome address by Lalita R Khadaria


Highlights of the celebration included JVSN at Glanced by Thumbui; Karbi dance by students of Balijan; importance of Raksha Bandan was highlighted by Divya Behan of Brahma Kumari; Dimasa cultural dance by teachers of JVSN and vote of thanks by Prakash Bothra
