Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya Sunday has greeted the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on March 7, the most auspicious festival of the Hindus, which is celebrated with profound devotion in the county every year.
“Among all the festivals, Shivratri seems to be the only one that symbolizes the reincarnation of the incorporeal, God Shiva”, said Acharya in the message.
He said Shivratri is celebrated in Bharat to commemorate God’s descent on earth to remove “darkness of ignorance, vices and violence; this is why His descent is linked with night.”
Acaharya also expressed hope that through this festival, Godly message of supreme souls Shiva, “Be Yogi and Be Pure” be imparted to the people, at this juncture, when ethical and moral values have declined drastically and “corruption, unrighteousness and immorality” spread all over the world. He further urged all to celebrate the festival in true spirit by understanding the actual meaning and significance and taking complete benefit with powerful blessings of the “Bholanath”.
