
Governor of Assam & Nagaland Prof. Mukhi launched the “Eduversity Cares2” in Kohima on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR report, during the launching programme, the governor appreciated Eduversity Group for taking the noble initiative to help girl students.
He said that the group’s major objective should be to identify talented students and produce IAS, IPS and IFS officers.
Mukhi encouraged Eduversity Group to be torchbearers for excellence.
Meanwhile, chairperson, Nagaland State Commission for Women, Khrienuo Tachu in her address as guest of honour congratulated the CEO, MD and colleagues of Eduversity Group for coming up with a great initiative with special focus on girl students. She said that the Naga women in 21st century were more informed and equipped and hoped that the initiative would take go a long way in empowering and leading Naga women to another level. In his keynote address, chief operating officer, Eduversity Group, Prakash Nayak said that the initiative was for girl students of the institution to cope with monthly cycle without compromising their studies and classes.
Under the initiative, a girl student gets a two-day leave during the initial period of menstrual cycle which was considered as peak of any discomfort he informed.
He further informed that the leave would be on voluntary basis and the classes missed would be compensated on Saturdays.
