Nagaland governor, La Ganesan has emphasised the crucial role of the students in nation building and encouraged them to contribute in their capabilities. The governor was speaking at the graduation ceremony of the St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama on September 6.
Mentioning “Amrit Kaal” a term coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to denote a golden era of India’s development for the next 25 years, the governor said the golden period was a visionary phase towards a prosperous India and signifies a time of renewal and resurgence and also a moment to re-imagine our future and work collectively towards a stronger, more prosperous India.
He said the vision of “Viksit Bharat” – a developed India by 2047 – is also within our grasp”.However, Ganesan said to achieve the goal, dedication, innovation, and unity from every one especially the youth was needed and encouraged the young educated minds, to be at the forefront of those movements.
The governor also commended the students for their hard work and recognized the role of the institute, as the college has lived up to its reputation by providing a nurturing environment conducive to higher education and learning.
“It is commendable how the institution has empowered students to excel academically, professionally, and personally. For this, the college deserves collective applause”, the governor said.
On the occasion, Ganesan also lauded the St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) for being accredited with Grade ‘A’ again by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) and said that the remarkable achievement was a testament of the dedication and hard work of the management, faculty and students.
The Governor further reminded the institutions that while celebrating the achievement, they should also look towards the future with a sense of responsibility and resolve.
“Our youth are the torchbearers of this new India. It is their creativity, energy, and passion that will drive us forward”, he said. He also appealed everyone to embrace the spirit of patriotism not just as love for the motherland, but as a commitment to contribute positively to the country. Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima and chairman of SJC (A), Jakhama, who also graced the event delivered a message and blessing, underscoring the arduous path to success and the importance of ambition.
