DIMAPUR, AUG 2 (NPN): Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav on Saturday attended the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan programme at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, Chümoukedima, and called upon students to take a leading role in the fight against substance abuse.
The programme was part of the Government of India’s 100-week nationwide campaign against drug abuse, aimed at mobilising youth, educational institutions and communities to build a drug-free and developed India.
During the programme, the governor visited a poster exhibition featuring awareness campaigns and creative exhibits prepared by students under the campaign. Appreciating their creativity and commitment, he encouraged the students to become ambassadors of the movement and spread the message of a drug-free future within their communities.
The governor, along with faculty members, students and staff, also joined the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address launching the 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan. In his address, the prime minister called upon the country’s youth to spearhead the movement against drug abuse and contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by NIT Nagaland registrar Dr. Manoj E. Prabhakar.
Faculty members, students, staff and officials of NIT Nagaland participated in the programme, reaffirming their commitment to supporting the nationwide anti-drug campaign and promoting a healthier, addiction-free society through sustained awareness and youth-led initiatives.
