Govt announces ‘Unlock 5’ from Aug 19-Sept 2

High Powered Committee (HPC) on Covid-19 headed by state chief minister Neiphiu Rio Monday decided to go for 15-day Unlock 5 from August 19 till September 2, 2021. 

Announcing HPC’s decision on site twitter, advisor and HPC spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon informed that government has allowed 100% attendance for government officers and 50% for other government employees.

He also informed that gyms would be allowed to operate with 50% attendance. It was learnt that guidelines and SOPs for Unlock-5 would be issued soon. 

Informing that state’s COVID-19 positivity rate was 4.52 %, Kikon said that positivity rate among young people below 20 years was 16%.As part of Unlock 4,  the HPC had earlier decided to continue with existing lockdown measures with further relaxations and reopening of more activities from August 2-18, 2021.
