School Education Advisor, Tokugha Sukhalu said that the government cannot employ everybody and encouraged students to pursue vocational and skill development courses so that they could become self-reliant.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the new school building of Cornerstone Higher Secondary School, Zunheboto on Wednesday. After the inauguration, Sukhalu in his brief address, advised the students to have a vision and a set objective and work towards it to realize their dreams. Maintaining that teachers have a noble responsibility, Sukhalu told the teachers to mould the students so as to enable them to become responsible citizens. Asserting that there was no end to learning, he advised the students to continue acquiring knowledge and go beyond “what we are today”.
Keeping in view the urgent need to introduce Science and Commerce streams in the lone Zunheboto Government College, Sukhalu assured the gathering that he would look into introducing either one of these streams in the college, during his tenure as Advisor of School Education. He further stated that he would give his best towards delivering changes for the satisfaction of the younger generation. Rev. S. Yevito Sumi, Sr. Pastor SBCZ administered the dedication prayer.
The programme was chaired by Philip Oliver Hansen, Vice-Principal of the school while Vinito Yeptho, Prayer I/c SBCZ pronounced the benediction.
