DIMAPUR: Government Polytechnic Kohima hosted a career counseling and awareness programme titled ‘Pragati 2026’ at its Auditorium Hall on September 11.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of SATHEE (Self Assessment Test and Help for Entrance Exams), a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur.
Chaired by Pukivi Muru (Mitra), the two hour session focused on five pillars-awareness, development, aspiration, technology and innovation. The programme aimed to empower local and rural students by raising awareness on professional challenges, emerging technologies, personal development, and competitive exam preparation resources available through the SATHEE portal.
The event featured expert guidance from Keyiekhru Rhutso, principal of Government Polytechnic Kohima; Petesetuo, Senior Academic Lecturer; and Ketoulhoukho Kenguruisie S, Training and Placement Officer (TPO).
Students interacted directly with the panel to gain insights into diverse career pathways and academic opportunities. As part of the programme, the distinguished guests also reviewed a science exhibition showcasing innovative models created by students, lauding their creativity and practical applications.
