Govt releases scholarship

DIMAPUR, JUL 23 (NPN): The state Higher Education Department has begun disbursing the Post-Matric Scheduled Tribe (ST) Scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year through the Aadhaar-enabled Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
According to the department, Rs. 25,497.86 lakh was disbursed on July 22 to 40,791 eligible beneficiaries. Students have been advised to check their bank accounts for the credited scholarship amount.
The directorate thanked chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, higher education & tourism minister Temjen Imna Along, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Education for their support in ensuring the timely release of the scholarship.
Beneficiaries can log into the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to check their application and payment status.
Students who have not received the scholarship have been advised to ensure their Aadhaar is linked to their bank accounts and that Direct Benefit Transfer is enabled.
The department said SMS alerts have been sent to beneficiaries whose accounts are not Aadhaar-seeded, urging them to complete the seeding process to facilitate timely credit of scholarship funds.
