GPPK observes ‘Balidan Diwas’ in Kohima

Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima (GPPK) observed “Balidan Diwas” (Martyrs’ Day) in memory of major Durga Malla and captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse and other martyrs on August 25 at GPPK Hall, Kohima.

A press release by GPPK stated that leaders of various Gorkha organisations in the state capital paid rich floral tribute for the supreme sacrifice made by the gallant heroes.
Sharing the significance of the day, GPPK president Santu Thapa spoke about the sacrifice made by major Malla to achieve India’s Independence and the brave act of captain Kenguruse during the Kargil War to protect the border of the country.
