GPRN/NNC (AB) reaffirms leadership under Pongkhu

DIMAPUR

The GPRN/NNC (AB) has reaffirmed that the party remains strong and stable under the leadership of its president, S.S. Pongkhu Naga, and general secretary, V. Yepthomi.
In a statement, the president clarified that Kitoho was merely a home kilonser and asserted that holding such a post does not confer constitutional (Yehzabo) authority to terminate the supreme leadership of the party. He termed the claims as illegitimate, baseless and without logic.
The president alleged that Kitoho had aligned himself with an irrelevant individual and therefore had no authority to speak or act in the name of GPRN/NNC (AB). He maintained that the party was functioning smoothly and would continue to do so, cautioning establishments and marketplaces in Kohima, Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts not to entertain any individual claiming to represent the group without the knowledge and approval of the general secretary.
Meanwhile, general secretary V. Yepthomi described the allegations of corruption, moral misconduct and arbitrary actions made by Kitoho Zhimomi as baseless, fabricated and aimed at tarnishing the image of the government.
It said that all regional councils also condemned Kitoho’s actions, terming them illogical and immature, and reiterated that no individual had the authority to dismiss the president or chief of army. They further declared that misuse of the GPRN/NNC (AB) name would invite serious action.
MIP clarification: The MIP stated that the “so-called emergency meeting” and its “resolution” were without knowledge, authority or mandate of the party, and described it as an attempt by a few individuals led by Francis Kikon to grab power through backdoor politics.
It reaffirmed that the leadership of president S.S. Pongkhu Naga remained intact and would continue to guide the GPRN/NNC (AB) in the spirit of truth and Naga national principles. The allegations of corruption, misconduct and arbitrary actions were dismissed as fabricated propaganda.
MIP maintained that there was no such person enrolled in the government under the claims of 37 members emerging with Kikon, apart from Kitoho and Loketo, and termed the claim false propaganda to mislead the public.”
The statement cautioned that any individual or group misusing the name of GPRN/NNC (AB) without approval of the president would be held solely responsible for the consequences. It also called upon the Naga public, regional authorities and well-wishers of the movement to remain vigilant and not be misled by false claims.
