The GPRN/NNC has formally disowned all claims made by its impeached president SS Pongkhu Naga, stating that he no longer represents the organization and has no authority to act under its banner.
The statement was issued via its Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) following internal disciplinary proceedings. According to the release, both SS Pongkhu and Alu Yimkhuing were summoned to explain unauthorized financial collections allegedly conducted under their oversight. However, despite repeated reminders, the duo failed to appear before the house to clarify the matter.
In a decisive meeting held on June 27, the house suspended the then acting Commander-in-Chief and reiterated its directive for SS Pongkhu to present himself—an order that reportedly went unheeded. The group’s leadership, currently overseen by general secretary Francis Kikon and endorsed by present Kilonsers and Tatars, took further steps to formalize the disassociation.
SS Pongkhu, previously vice president under NNC (PB) Z Royim, had been removed from that role due to alleged incompetency and misconduct. He was later reinstated as acting president after making a confession and expressing willingness to reform. However, the group claimed he soon resumed issuing tax and donation notices without consulting the finance committee, leading to his impeachment.
GPRN/NNC (AB) has now prohibited SS Pongkhu from using its name and cautioned the Naga public against individuals who exploit the Naga movement for personal gain. “No one has the right to take advantage of the Naga’s struggle for one’s own survival,” the group stated, urging unity and vigilance among its people.
In a final note, the organization expressed regret for the confusion caused by what it described as a “shameful act” and requested forgiveness from the Naga community.
