DIMAPUR: GPRN/NNC (Apex Body) under the leadership of S.S. Pongkhu Naga, along with its collective leaders, Tatar Hoho, Naga Army Wing and regional presidents, convened an emergency meeting on August 14, 2025, to condemn the purported use of the organisation’s name and identity by Francis Kikon.
In a statement, the MIP clarified that the GPRN/NNC (AB) is a people’s government and not an individual’s. It stated that Francis Kikon, who had temporarily served as acting general secretary, was removed on July 1, 2025, due to alleged “misconduct, improper financial management and inability to lead effectively”. The leadership expressed concern over the signing of MoU between NSCN/GPRN (U) ‘president’ M.B. Neokpao Konyak, ‘ato kilonser’ Alezo Venuh and Francis Kikon, terming it illogical and without basis in relation to the GPRN/NNC (AB). It cautioned that such arrangements could create confusion among the Naga people, reiterating that Kikon has had no authority to represent the organisation since his removal.
GPRN/NNC (AB) strongly warned Francis Kikon against using its name, identity or authority in any form, stating that such actions would invite measures in accordance with the Yehzabo (Constitution).
The organisation further reaffirmed its full support and cooperation to N. Kitovi Zhimomi, convenor of the Working Committee of NNPGs, until a political solution to the Naga issue is achieved.
