
GPRN/NSCN has expressed grief over the demise of ‘Maj.’ Tonivi who passed away on November 28. In a condolence message, the group through its MIP said that late ‘Maj.’ Tonivi enrolled in the Naga Army in 1997 and served for 24 years till his demise.
It described him as “a true soldier known not only for his dedication to his services” but also “a compassionate and noble young man who believed in the cause and aspiration of a Naga nation.” Stating that his service and legacy for the cause of the “Naga nation” would be cherished and recorded in the pages of the Naga history, GPRN/NSCN conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty would grant them peace and solace.
