GPRN/NSCN (U) and NNC/FGN sign MoU for unity and cooperation

DIMAPUR: GPRN/NSCN (Unification) represented by ‘ato kilonser’ Alezo Venuh and the NNC/FGN (Tokuho Swu government) represented by its ‘president and commander in chief’ have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthen unity, mutual understanding and cooperation among the Naga people.
In a press release, MIP kilonser of NNC/FGN (Tokuho Swu) stated that recognising the common history, sacrifices and aspirations of the Nagas, both parties affirmed that dialogue, mutual respect and peaceful cooperation are essential for safeguarding the interests of the Naga nation and promoting harmony among all Naga political groups and civil society. The MoU stated that both organisations will cooperate to strengthen mutual trust, respect and cordial relations, and work together in promoting peace, unity, reconciliation and the welfare of all Naga people. It emphasised encouraging political dialogue and cooperation in pursuit of an honourable and inclusive solution to the Naga political issue, while jointly supporting social, economic, educational and cultural development for present and future generations.
The agreement further highlighted the need to resolve misunderstandings and differences through peaceful consultation rather than confrontation, uphold law, discipline and dignity of the Naga people while respecting each other’s organisational identity and responsibilities, and cooperate in addressing public grievances while maintaining stability and security in Naga areas.
The MoU also urged all Nagas to preserve the spirit of brotherhood, forgiveness and unity for a stronger future.
Both parties acknowledged that the strength of the Naga nation lies in unity rather than division, and reaffirmed their commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and united future for all Nagas based on justice, cooperation and reconciliation.
The MoU shall take effect from the date of signing and will remain in force unless amended or terminated by mutual written consent of both parties.
