GPRN/NSCN (U) refutes claims of member defections

DIMAPUR

GPRN/NSCN (Unification) has strongly denied claims made by Kitovi’s group regarding the defection of its members, calling the assertions fabricated and baseless.
In a statement, H. Nasu Chang, Regional Administrative Officer (RAO) of the Chang Region, GPRN/NSCN (Unification), dismissed the allegations as a misleading attempt to create a false impression of strength and influence among the Naga public and the Chang community. The Chang Region GPRN (Unification) clarified that, apart from one former member, the individuals reportedly welcomed into Kitovi’s group were never part of their ranks. “These persons do not appear in any official records of our government, and their alleged affiliation with us is purely fictitious”, GPRN/NSCN (U) said.
The group condemned such fabricated narratives, accusing Kitovi’s faction of distorting facts to mislead the public. The only exception cited was former Major Nukshi, who was dismissed for violating regulations under NARRA. His departure preceded the alleged defection, making Kitovi’s claim misleading and inaccurate.
Further, GPRN/NSCN (Unification) accused Kitovi’s group of trying to boost its credibility by falsely claiming support from individuals who are not associated with them. It reaffirmed its commitment to truth, justice, and the genuine interests of the Naga people, stressing that political legitimacy must be built on honesty, mutual respect, and factual representation—not deception and misinformation.
