DIMAPUR: The GPRN/NSCN (Unification), under the leadership of president Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and ato kilonser Alezo Venuh, has strongly refuted a news report circulating on social media platforms regarding the alleged arrest of Hokito Yeptho of Xukhepu Village, Zunheboto district.
In a press release, GPRN/NSCN (Unification) through its MIP stated that the report had claimed that the arrested individual was a “leacy” member belonging to “Unification (Kitovi)”, the organisation categorically rejected the claim, terming it false and misleading.
The organisation cautioned the officer-in-charge of Diphupar Police Station against the erroneous use of the term “Unification” in reference to the Kitovi group. It reiterated that there is only one organisation recognised as “Unification”, led by Gen. (Retd.) MB Neokpao Konyak and Alezo Venuh. The statement further pointed out that Kitovi himself had publicly renounced the “Unification” nomenclature following his impeachment, making the continued misrepresentation by authorities inexplicable.
The GPRN/NSCN (Unification) urged all government authorities and concerned agencies to ensure proper verification of facts before issuing or disseminating information. It stressed that the circulation of inaccurate or misleading statements undermines public trust and threatens social harmony.
The organisation warned that any recurrence of such misrepresentation in the future may compel it to take appropriate action against those responsible.
