A short and solemn programme of unveiling of cemetery monolith of the “martyrs” under the initiative of the Ministry of National Social Welfare (NSW), GPRN/NSCN was held Tuesday at Nihoto Village, Nuiland.
A press release by GPRN/NSCN MIP informed that the ceremony was a tribute to the “fallen heroes and national workers who have steadfastly served and sacrificed for the Naga people and land”.
A dedicatory prayer for the “martyr’s monolith” was pronounced by Pastor, CHQ Church, Dr Akito while kilo kilonser, Jack Jimomi unveiled the monolith and read out the exalting inscription of the monolith.
Chief of Nihoto village, Dr. P. Nihoto Chishi, who had donated a plot of land for the martyr’s cemetery, shared a few words about the background of his land donation and his “patriotic concern for the Naga people”.
ACL member, GPRN/NSCN, Azheto Chophy paid homage to the “Naga martyrs” and highlighted the gathering on the sacrifices made by the fallen “Naga national workers” and the plights of the families they have left behind.
At the programme, Vinili Yepthomi, Kilonser (NSW) delivered the words of thanks while Children Pastor (NGBA), Tokali J Swu said the benediction. Members from ACL, cabinet, “Naga Army”, secretariat and CHQ Church of GPRN/NSCN attended the ceremony.
