In connection with conduct of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan (Village Self Government Campaign) a coordination meeting with Nodal Officer under secretary to the government of India, G. Sajith Kumar, and line departments, was held under the chairmanship of Longleng DC, John Tsulise Sangtam at DC’s conference hall on April 23.
DIPR reports that the DC said the purpose of the meeting was to brief the Nodal Officer about implementation, by the line department, of seven central flagship programmes such as Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Saubhagya (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Abhiyan), Ujala Scheme, Pradhan Mantri jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Mission Indrahanush. He informed the meeting that the nodal officer would visit the villages to ascertain whether these schemes had been implemented. The DC also said that the flagship program was to be implemented and completed by May 5 as per official directions. He also directed the line departments to submit reports of their respective activities and the problems faced, to him at the earliest.
The officers and representatives of line departments present reported on their respective activities to the nodal officers. They also raised issues and grievances faced when implementing the programs at the village levels and also suggested some remedies.
