Grassroots football festival held in Kohima

Grassroots football festival, Blue Cubs League 2025, organized by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, was held at IG Stadium Kohima on June 21.
The special guest of the inaugural ceremony, Additional Director of Youth Resources & Sports Megolhu Dolie, encouraged participants to work hard and perform well and urged them to play with discipline, dedication, and hard work.
Kethosituo Sekhose Director of DYRS, who also spoke on the occasion, said such programs help children exercise and discover their passions, adding that such initiatives aid in talent identification, and when the time comes, special coaching will be provided to groom them from a young age.
Earlier, Kedoviphre Tsira, Pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship, Nagpur, Maharashtra, blessed the program with a prayer.
Winners are given merit certificate with medals along with participation certificate.
A total of 297 children participated in the league, divided into age-wise groups for competition.
Results of the Festival:
5-6 years: Winner – Liverpool, Runners-up – Manchester United
7-8 years: Winner – Saramati, Runners-up – Japfü
9-10 years: Winner – Shiloi, Runners-up – Dhansari
11-12 years: Winner – Real Madrid, Runners-up – God’s Glory
