Green Peren store inaugurated

DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Hiazu Meru inaugurated the Green Peren store at Jalukie Town on August 6, 2026 under the banner “Our land nourishes us. Our hands grow it. Our pride shares it. And our future sustains it.”
According to DIPR report, speaking at the inaugural programme, Meru said it had been the long cherished dream of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Peren to establish such a store, which the board had discussed and planned for two years. He noted that the initiative was a significant step towards benefiting farmers of the district.
The DC observed that the Agriculture & Allied department, Rural Development and other departments had taken various initiatives to bring about such a market, while stressing the need to upskill with available materials and resources.
Meru encouraged Kingdom Steward for taking up the challenge of marketing the products and advised them to adopt a business based model despite the risks involved. He also urged youth engaged in the venture to dedicate themselves, master the skills and work with enthusiasm to ensure its success. Expressing happiness, Meru concluded that the initiative had finally become a reality.
