Green Sustainable Livelihood initiative showcases entrepreneurs

Pro Rural, in collaboration with Quest Alliance, initiated the Green Sustainable Livelihood Initiative to nurture and showcase sustainable entrepreneurs from the North East region. The programme has been designed as a two-tier initiative comprising Skill Shack & Green Ideathon (Tier-1) and the North East Green Convening, Guwahati (Tier-2).
The Skill Shack programme was successfully conducted in Jalukie Town in January, focusing on entrepreneurship readiness, green business opportunities and foundational skills.
As part of Tier-1, the Green Ideathon was held on February 16, 2026 at L’Arte, Art & Design Studio, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur. A total of 11 business pitches were presented before a jury panel comprising Aluile Hequi, Temsusenla, Sentimeren and Paul Lokho.
Three sustainable business ideas were shortlisted: Bhoini Sabuj Udyog – 1st Place; The Dew Wooden Manufacturing Unit – 2nd Place and Grace & Achumi Sisters Enterprise – 3rd Place
The selected entrepreneurs will advance to Tier-2, the North East Green Convening in Guwahati, where the final pitching round will be held on March 6 and 7, 2026.
The initiative seeks to empower youth towards self-employment, promote sustainable business practices and create meaningful environmental impact across the region.
