KOHIMA, JUL 22 (NPN): The State Level Pre-Subroto Tournament for Under-17 boys, organised by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association, entered its second day at the Indira Gandhi (IG) Stadium, Kohima, on July 22.
Greenwood Higher Secondary School, Dimapur and King David Higher Secondary School, Medziphema, booked their places in the championship match after winning their respective semi-final encounters. The two teams will clash in the final on July 23.
In the first semi-final match between Greenwood HSS and GHSS Hakushang, Greenwood HSS edged past Government Higher Secondary School, Hakushang, Tuensang, with a narrow 3-2 victory. Zhouviku Lam, Lidikhum N. Sangtam and Longoukam Thange scored for Greenwood, while Besu Chingmak and Kaimang Chaolu netted goals for GHSS Hakushang.
In the second semifinal match, King David HSS registered a commanding 5-0 win over PM Shri GHSS Thangjam, Tuensang. Neisetso Yalie and Medosevi Terhuja scored two goals each, while Khwingtsathvii Peri added another to seal the emphatic victory.
The much-anticipated championship clash between Greenwood HSS and King David HSS will be held on July 23 at IG Stadium, Kohima.
