GST Sahyogi training launched to empower Nagaland youth

Dimapur

A two-week GST Sahyogi training programme aimed at equipping local youth to assist small businesses in Nagaland with Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance was formally inaugurated on Monday at the CGST Dimapur Commissionerate. The programme was launched by L. Beimopha, Additional Director General, National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN), Shillong, in the presence of senior officials from Central and State GST departments and representatives of the trade community.
Organised by NACIN Shillong in collaboration with CGST Dimapur, the training will be held from September 15 to 26, 2025 and will feature resource persons from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The sessions will focus on practical aspects of GST including registration, filing of returns, tax payments, and addressing common compliance challenges. Hands-on training will be a key component of the programme.
A total of 37 participants have been selected from across Nagaland in consultation with local trade bodies and the State Taxes Department. The cohort represents 16 out of the 17 districts of the state, with 25% of the trainees being women.
Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded the “GST Sahyogi” Certificate. Their names and contact details will be made available at local GST offices and public platforms to enable businesses to access their services. The initiative also includes plans for periodic refresher sessions and the creation of a support network to ensure continued upskilling.
The programme is expected to strengthen grassroots GST awareness and compliance, while also creating livelihood opportunities for trained youth across the state.
