GST training for DDOs, dealers and stakeholders at Tuensang

A one-day training on Goods and Services Tax (GST) for Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), dealers and stakeholders was conducted at CKS Hall, Tuensang, on August 19. The programme was organized by the Commissioner of State Taxes, Government of Nagaland.
According to a DIPR report, Yanrenthung, Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes (ACST), Kohima, delivered the keynote address and led the first session, highlighting the importance of GST registration, the role of tax compliance in strengthening the state’s revenue system, and the necessity of obtaining a Tax Clearance Certificate. Biju Sharma from the IT Cell presented a detailed demonstration on GST registration and return filing procedures.
The second session, led by Mongko Chang, CSTO Tuensang, focused on GST-related issues for dealers and stakeholders. An interactive session followed, allowing participants from various government departments, trade bodies and business communities to raise queries and seek clarifications on implementation challenges.
Earlier, a short programme for DDOs was arranged by the Tuensang office of the Assistant Commissioner of State Taxes. The session was chaired by T. Likhumse, BAO, and began with a welcome address by Thsitilong Sangtam, CSTO Tuensang.
The training concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Imsejungla, CSTO Tuensang.
