A one-day training programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST) was organised on August 5 at the Training Centre, Office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Lengrijan, Dimapur.
According to DIPR report, the session, chaired by Additional Commissioner of Taxes, Lima Imsong, aimed at enhancing awareness among Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), registered dealers and key stakeholders regarding GST procedures and compliance mandates.
Speaking at the programme, Imsong stressed the importance of equipping officials and businesses with updated knowledge for smooth financial operations and contributing effectively to the state’s revenue system.
Department officials presented detailed briefings on GST registration, e-way bills, return filing, tax deduction at source (TDS), penalties for non-compliance, and recent rule revisions.
The interactive session allowed participants from various government departments, business entities, and trade bodies to seek clarifications on implementation-related challenges.
