Guidelines to be followed under Kohima district

In order to ensure a successful lockdown period and with a view to facilitate movement of essential services and supplies during the lockdown period for the benefit of the general public, deputy commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has  directed all concerned to follow the following guidelines. 

Agencies which are exempted from the purview of the nationwide lockdown: Hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and all related medical establishments, both government as well as private. The movement of all medical personnel which includes doctors, nurses, para medical staff and other hospital support staff are permitted; Ration shops (under PDS), grocery shops, bakeries fruit shops, vegetable shops, dairy and milk booths, meat & fish shops and seeds & pesticide shops. Due care should be taken that safe practices like social distancing, markings in front of the shops and use of masks and hand sanitizers are used at all times; Municipal officers and staff including sanitary workers; Defence, paramilitary and central armed police forces; Helipads, for cargo movement, evacuation and emergencies; Inter-state movement of goods and cargo; Staff of treasury offices including staff of the office of the accountant general which should function with bare minimum staff; Public utilities: petroleum, LPG, CNG & PNG, including their transportation and sale at designated pumps and agencies; Home delivery of essential commodities through e-commerce; Water supply tankers permitted by the government; Power generation and transmission units; Post offices, NIC and early warning agencies; Banks, insurance offices and ATMs and cash management agencies; Movement of district administration officials. Police, Home Guards & Civil Defence, Fire and Emergency Services, Disaster Management (NSDMA, NDMA, IRS) are permitted; Officials & staff of PHE and Power department on bonafide duty; Forest officials and Social Welfare officials on bonafide duty, duly authorized for a specific duty by their head of office. They should function with bare minimum staff; Veterinary hospitals, pharmacies and animal feed and fodder shops and manufacturing units and movement of related items; Print and electronic media including IPR department officials on bonafide duty; Telecom and internet service providers; Manufacture and supply of essential commodities, cold storage and warehouses; Due care should be taken that unnecessary harassment of exempted officials & staff, people involved in delivering essential services & commodities and unfair treatment to the helpless travellers and migrant workers who have been stranded in the district as a result of the nationwide lockdown should be avoided by all.

Further, the following points as prescribed by the government may also be noted: All places of worship shall be closed and no religious congregations are permitted, without any exception; All social/political/sports/ entertainment/academic/cultural/religious functions and gatherings are banned, without any exception; In case of funerals, congregation of not more than 20 persons will be permitted; All hospitality services like hotels and homestays are suspended except for those which are accommodating people stranded due to the lockdown and those which are earmarked for quarantine facilities; All persons who have entered the state after March 6 should use the self declaration COVID-19 Nagaland App and must register.

OHC panchayat Kohima informs beneficiaries: Officers’ Hill Colony (OHC) panchayat Kohima informed all the beneficiaries of FPS M/s V. Solo that, the issuing of rice and other commodities will be limited and distributed on roster system along with specific timings. OHC panchayat informed that there was no reason to panic as all the beneficiaries will receive their share according to the roster dates allotted. Essential commodities were made available to the beneficiaries in the first roster on March 28. The second roster will be on March 30 for ration card serial numbers 171 to 260 from p p.m till 12 noon; Ration card serial numbers 261 to 356 from 12:30 p.m till 4 p.m. Beneficiaries have been asked to note down their ration card number with the timing allotted and come. Beneficiaries whose serial numbers are not in the roster have been requested not to come as they will not be entertained.

Do’s and Dont’s for beneficiaries: Always wear mask during the time of your stay in and around fair price shop (FPS); Stay at least a meter distance away from each other; Hand sanitizers shall be available for all the beneficiaries to use; Avoid crowding/mass gathering at the distribution site and please follow the marked circle allotted for each beneficiaries.

Tseminyu meeting: Covid-19, surveillance team Tseminyu headed by ADC Nokchasashi Kichu held an emergency meeting at its conference hall, Tseminyu on March 28. According to DIPR report, the meeting discussed on additional places for quarantine where Tseminyu town hall and GHS building (Tseminyu new town) were earmarked in addition to CHC building Tseminyu and those places already made as designated by respective villages in the sub-division. The meeting also decided to sanitize the important public places with disinfectant in Tseminyu town. ADC also informed that food stuff is available and therefore the public should not panic. Dr. Aveli SMO appraised the meeting on the preparedness and reports to the higher ups in Kohima with regard to all COVID-19 related information matters from Tseminyu sub-division. ADC informed that as of now district administration of Tseminyu along with Medical department were ceaselessly working and in constant touch with all concerned including villages in Tseminyu sub-division. He said that all public should follow and put in to practise all preventive and safety measures notified by the government from time to time.

TVC informs: Tenyiphe Village Council (TVC) in its emergency meeting held on March 29 resolved to hold a day of prayer and fasting irrespective of religion on March 31 from 6 a.m to 12 noon due to the pandemic COVID-19. A press release from TVC chairman Helie Kruse and general secretary, Varülhou Rutsa has requested all the residents of Tenyiphe village permanent/temporary to kindly follow the resolution laid down by the village council. Meanwhile, on the day designated there will be total restriction of vehicular movement, works and no shops to be opened till 12 noon.
