H&FW dept to start RAT in all health centres

State Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department has decided to start Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) facility in all SC-Health and Wellness Centre, Primary Health Centre and Community Health Centre with doctors, besides providing oxygen-supported beds in all SC-HWC, PHC and CHCs.

A review meeting on Covid-19 held at Kohima on Thursday by Health minister S Pangnyu Phom with principal secretary, secretary, principal director and other senior officers from the department also decided to provide pulse oxymeters and thermometers on loan to Covid-19 positive individuals under home Isolation and emergency oxygen facility in all community Covid care centres (CCCs) as per requirement.

Further, all community CCCs will be linked to nearest health facility with one dedicated functional ambulance, while arrangements will be made for transportation of asymptomatic cases from testing centre to his/her own village to CCC or for home Isolation, if proper facility is at home. These were among some of the decisions taken at the meeting. 

In a tweet Phom said representations from various NGOs regarding manpower shortage and other grievances were deliberated in length. He also said 102 oxygen concentrators were distributed to different private hospitals and some strategic government institutions in Dimapur and Kohima.
