Health & Family Welfare, Kohima officials on Saturday inspected the ongoing construction of District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) building and held a meeting with DHD officials and staff on July 11.
A press release by District Hospital Dimapur, UDA Imsenkumba Imchen stated that H&FW director, Dr. Neikhrielie Khimiao, senior specialist (orthopaedics) Dr. G Thong and executive engineer, Er. Moanaro and team inspected the building.
In a meeting after the inspection, Dr. Khimiao lauded the DHD team for “coming together” sensing the urgency to complete the new building at the earliest.
MS, DHD Dr. Z. Kheshito Zhimo said the long cherished dream for new DHD building was likely to materialise by December 2020. With completion of the new building, Dr. Zhimo said the patients would get better health services in a more hygienic environment. He said the hospital will have all the facilities and nearly 200 beds for both male and female along with differently abled person friendly toilets.
The new hospital building will have CT Scan, X-Ray, Ultra sound, Physiotherapy, High Dependency Unit (HDU), Medicine (male and female) and District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Surgery ward, paediatrics ward, Sick New Born Care Unit (SNBCU), Orthopaedic ward, ENT, Dental ward ICU, three Operation Theatres (OTS), one dialysis unit, post operative ward. Oxygen generator and mini fold plant has also been identified for location. Obstetrics and Gynaecology wards with two operation theatres and labour room will also be located in the same building.
