H. Tovihoto Ayemi graces Tsükhenyie festival

The four-day Tsükhenyie festival-cum-77th Annual Youth Day of Pfutseromi Youth Organization (PYO) held under the theme “Progress through culture” commenced on April 24 at Pfutseromi village under Phek district .
Gracing the occasion, advisor Tribal Affairs and Election, H. Tovihoto Ayemi, inaugurated the Pfutseromi village community hall constructed by the Tribal Affairs department, in the presence of Dr. Neisatuo Mero MLA and other dignitaries.
In his address, Ayemi lauded the contribution of PYO since its inception in 1947 and urged the youth to have a clear vision while continuing to protect and serve the community. Stressing the need for Naga unity, he said progress could only be achieved when society comes together as one.
Sharing greetings, Dr. Mero described the festival as a time to wear traditional attires, serve the best food, and purify oneself physically and spiritually while preparing to face challenges with new hope. He expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for development in the constituency and thanked Tovihoto for inaugurating the community hall.
He also encouraged youth to be sincere and dedicated in facing the competitive world.

The programme featured competitions such as blowing of traditional wind instruments, declaration of new office bearers, and cultural presentations. Vote of thanks was proposed by PYO advisor Neiwe Mero.
