Handloom expedition launched at Town Hall Mkg

DIMAPUR

General Manager (Admin), Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDCL) Narola Alemba Jamir, on Thursday inaugurated the Handloom Exhibition at Town Hall, Mokokchung.
The exhibition is being organized by NHHDCL, sponsored by office of Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi, and would be held from 16 to 29.
A press release by NHHDCL stated that a total of 60 participants, comprising of artisans and weavers from Assam and various districts of Nagaland, would be exhibiting extensive range of handloom, khadi, and handicraft products, reflecting the region’s rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship.
The primary objective of the exhibition was to develop and promote sustainable marketing channels in both domestic and export markets, while establishing holistic and integrated linkage between the two.
It added that the event also seeks to create viable marketing opportunities for artisans and weavers, thereby enhancing their economic empowerment and supporting continued growth of the handloom and handicraft sectors.
