Handloom, handicrafts exhibitions in Dimapur, Kohima

Handloom Exhibition, organized by Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd was inaugurated by Er. Y Lipongse Thongtsar, Managing Director NHHDC Ltd., and addl. director, department of Industries and Commerce on March 6, 2025 in Dimapur.


The exhibition sponsored by office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms) Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi will continue till March 19, 2025. All together 60 participants from Assam and from the various districts of Nagaland are exhibiting varieties of handloom, khadi and handicraft crafted products.

According to project manager NHHDC Ltd, the main aim and objective of the exhibition was to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner.


KOHIMA: An exhibition of Handicraft and Handloom for 10 days, March 7 to 16, at State Academy Hall, PR Hill, Kohima, was inaugurated on March 7 by Neihunuo Sorhie, Padma Shri Awardee.

A press release by NWVTI informed that the exhibition was organized by NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt. Ltd. Dimapur, and sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi. Neihunuo Sorhie, who was impressed with the products displayed by the artisans, encouraged participants to create more innovative items to compete in national and international market and to represent the rich heritage of Nagaland textiles and handicraft.


Director, NWVTI Handicraft and Handloom Producer Pvt. Ltd. Temjenlemla Jamir said that the exhibition was running successfully attracting visitors every day and more visitors were expected in the coming days. She said that the exhibition was a platform for artisans of Producer Company to display their products. 20 artisans are participating in the exhibition.
