DIMAPUR: Coordinator of the Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC) Pungro under Kiphire District, Hanrenla K., has been conferred the National Award for Innovation and Good Practices in Educational Administration by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi.
She was among 84 awardees from 22 States and Union Territories recognized during the two-day National Conference held in Delhi on September 2–3, 2026. The awards were presented by Padma Shri Prof. J.S. Rajput, Former Director of NCERT, and Chancellor of NIEPA, Prof. Rama Shankar Dubey.
The award seeks to honour education officers who conceive and implement innovative practices in educational administration, with the objective of giving greater visibility to grassroots innovations that often remain localized despite their potential to strengthen education delivery. Out of over 300 nominations, 84 district and block-level officers were shortlisted and awarded for the years 2023–24 and 2024–25.
Hanrenla K. was recognized for her outstanding contributions to education in Kiphire district, particularly through her initiative of establishing Hanging Libraries in Pungro Block, which has brought laurels to the region.
The Lihpikihna Foundation, Kiphire congratulated her on receiving the distinguished national recognition, acknowledging her steadfast commitment to advancing education and her continued partnership in shared goals.
The EBRC Office, Pungro also extended heartfelt congratulations, noting that the award reflects her dedication, innovative leadership and commitment to educational excellence. The office highlighted her valuable contributions in strengthening schools, supporting teachers and promoting effective educational practices, adding that her recognition at the national level serves as an inspiration for all education personnel to pursue greater dedication and excellence.
