DIMAPUR: Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign was launched across Nagaland on August 14 with rallies, flag hoisting and awareness programmes held in several districts to mark the eve of the 80th Independence Day.
Longleng: The campaign was officially launched at Public Ground, Longleng with participation from HoDs, government officials, uniformed personnel, school students, Nagaland Motorcycle Club and Infra Ride (Taxis). DC Longleng W. Manpai Phom, briefed on the objectives of the campaign, urging citizens to hoist the National Flag at every home with respect. He recalled its launch in 2022 during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and stressed amendments to the Flag Code of India to encourage wider participation.
Later, a rally was flagged off by the DC in the presence of SP Longleng Yanger Jamir and senior officials. In his remarks, Jamir highlighted the evolving significance of the Tricolour and urged students to uphold its dignity.
Kiphire: The campaign began with a march led by the Police Department, Education Department and Dobashis, from the DC’s office and proceeded to Police Point Tuensang Road Junction before returning to the DC office complex. The programme aimed to promote patriotism and national unity.
Pungro: A public rally was conducted from State Bank of India, Pungro to the ADC’s Office with enthusiastic participation from officials, stakeholders and the public. The rally sought to instill pride in the Tricolour and strengthen the spirit of unity.
Shamator: The campaign was held at Shamator with a rally led by DC Arikumba and SP Suresh Shinde.
It witnessed participation from HoOs, DEF Shamator, 3rd NAP Shamator, 32 Assam Rifles and students. SDO Civil Athrong delivered the welcome address, stressing the importance of the National Flag.
Flags were prominently displayed across Shamator town as a symbol of unity.
Tuli: In Tuli Sub division, Mokokchung, a Tiranga rally was led by ADC Tuli, Imsenperong Wati, with participation from HoOs, Dobashis, students, youths and members of the Tuli Town Council.
